With this, Joe Root has become England’s most successful captain against Asian teams in Test cricket. Root, who led the “Three Lions” from 2017 to 2022, has registered 15 Test wins against Asian teams in 25 matches as captain. This is the most wins registered by an English skipper.
The 35-year-old cricketer is followed by Andrew Strauss with 14 wins in 22 matches, Alastair Cook with 12 victories in 30 matches, and Nasser Hussain and Ben Stokes with seven wins each.
