Bumper recruitment in 2026!
The pace of jobs was somewhat slow since last one year. Companies were recruiting cautiously and there was an atmosphere of uncertainty in the market. But now the situation seems to be changing. According to the new report ‘India Decoding Jobs 2026’ by TAGGD and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the intention to recruit in the country has reached double digits, that is, now companies are ready to hire more people than before.
While last year this figure was around 9.75%, it has increased to 11% in 2026. This is a clear sign that India’s job market is gaining momentum again.
In which sectors the demand for jobs will increase
According to the report, sectors like BFSI (banking, finance and insurance), manufacturing and infrastructure will be at the forefront in providing jobs. Due to increasing investment in these sectors and adoption of technology, a large number of new opportunities are going to be created. Apart from this, digital and technology sectors are also recruiting rapidly. Companies are now giving priority to those candidates who have understanding of new technologies like AI, cloud computing, data analytics, cyber security.
Entry of Artificial Intelligence in recruitment also
The most interesting thing about the report is that now the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasing in the recruitment process also. Nearly 60% of companies are using AI to screen resumes and 45% of companies are automating the interview process. This means that AI is now not just a part of technical jobs but has also become an important recruitment tool. Therefore, in the coming times, skills related to AI will become necessary for every candidate.
Demand for experienced professionals will increase
The report suggests that the year 2026 will be special for experienced professionals. Companies are now giving preference to people who have 6 to 15 years or more experience. It is clear from this that the demand for not only new jobs but also quality talent is increasing in the market.
Opportunities will increase in Tier-II cities also
Another big thing is that now the possibilities of jobs are increasing even in small cities i.e. Tier-II locations. According to the report, about 32% of the total jobs in 2026 will come from such places. Companies no longer want to be limited to only metro cities, but are turning to cities like Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Chandigarh for affordable and skilled talent.
