Jeetan Ram Manjhi has announced before the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 that if he does not get a proper stake in the NDA, he will contest 100 seats alone. This has increased the movement in NDA.
Patna: Before the Bihar assembly elections, the stir in political circles has intensified. There has been a fierce battle over seat sharing in NDA. Jeetan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister and President of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), has made a big and clear announcement that if he does not get respectable seats in the NDA, he will contest alone and will beat 100 seats. His statement has raised a big question on the coalition strategy and has increased restlessness in the NDA. His statement came just a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar.
Will contest elections on 100 seats!
During a conversation with reporters at his residence in Bodh Gaya on Sunday, Manjhi said that his party’s goal is to become a recognized party this time. For this, it is necessary to win at least eight seats and get six percent of the total votes. He said, “If we are not given 15 to 20 seats, we will contest elections alone. Candidates will field in 100 seats and will contest the elections.” Manjhi also said that his party is standing firmly with 10 to 15 thousand voters in every assembly constituency.
To be unhappy
Manjhi said, “We fight elections with public confidence, no money. Other parties spend money to gather crowds, but we can bring people along without expenses.” He clarified that for ten years the party has remained ‘unregistered’, which is derogatory for him. “Now this election is a status of do or die for us. We need recognition and for this a proper share in seats is necessary.”
Increased questions in NDA
This statement comes at a time when the discussion on seat sharing in the NDA is intensified and political equations are eyeing before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar. Experts believe that this announcement of Manjhi can create a rift in the NDA. The claims of his party’s social grip and vote bank have further strengthened the demand for a stake in the alliance. Now it has to be seen how much NDA pays their demands.
