Actress Jiah Khan passed away in 2013 by suicide on June 3 in her Juhu, Mumbai apartment. Later, Khan’s boyfriend, actor Sooraj Pancholi was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide based on a six-page suicide note that mentioned her troubled relationship with Pancholi.
However, he was granted bail after being jailed for 22 days. In 2023, a special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted Pancholi in Khan’s suicide case due to a “lack of evidence.”
Now, Sooraj’s mother, actress Zarina Wahab opened up on Jiah’s death and revealed that before meeting her son, she had attempted suicide 4-5 times. “Uske pehle bhi usne 4-5 baar try kiya hai, lekin naseeb aisi thi ki jab mere bete ka turn aaya toh it happened,” she told Lehren in an interview.
Sooraj had a promising start with Hero, which released in 2015, but his career got affected due to his girlfriend Jiah’s death case.
Earlier, in 2023, Sooraj revealed that he is in a relationship, but his girlfriend is not from the film industry.
