A jeweller in Ahmedabad’s Ranip area foiled a robbery attempt by a woman, posing as a customer, who tried to attack him with chilli powder.
The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the jeweller bravely fighting back and forcing the woman out of his shop.
The incident took place at a jewellery store near the Ranip vegetable market. The jeweller was alone when the woman walked in. Moments later, she took out chilli powder and tried to throw it into his eyes. However, the chilli powder missed its target.
Realising her intention, the jeweller immediately jumped over the counter and confronted her, pushing her out of the shop to prevent the robbery. The entire episode was recorded on the CCTV camera installed inside the store.
While the jeweller has refused to file a complaint, Ranip police has started investigating the case based on the CCTV footage. Inspector Ketan Vyas said efforts are on to trace the woman involved in the incident.AM
