Jennifer Garner makes candid admission about co-parenting with Ben Affleck

has offered a rare insight into her relationship with ex-husband , praising the actor as an “incredible co-parent” to their three children.

The 54-year-old actress shares Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14, with Ben, 53, whom she divorced in 2018 after 10 years of marriage.

Speaking to about the challenge of   with her successful Hollywood career, Jennifer admitted that she “absolutely” became caught up in motherhood when her children were younger – a period she described as both demanding and deeply meaningful.

“There is a time in your life where you do get caught in all of that. And that’s okay. That’s a season. And it’s a beautiful thing,” she said. “I wouldn’t trade a minute of it. But did I get caught up in raising my family? Absolutely.”

Now that their children are older, however, Jennifer explained that she has more freedom to accept work away from home – thanks in part to the support she receives from Ben.

“But my kids are a little bigger [now]. Their dad has become this incredible co-parent,” she said.

The Alias star went on to explain that she would rarely have spent extended periods away from   when they were young unless they could accompany her.

“When [my kids] were younger, I wouldn’t have done a couple of weeks away without taking them with me,” she said. “Now they’re in high school. You can’t really do that anymore. But they can stay with their dad.”

“He’s wonderful. He takes care of them. He’s a great partner in that way. And that’s very freeing.”

Jennifer also credited her producing partner with helping her develop projects that can be filmed closer to home in Los Angeles.

“I love making movies anywhere, but I really want to make movies at home,” she explained.

Jennifer and Ben married in 2005 before announcing their separation in 2015. Their divorce was finalized three years later, but the former couple have continued to present a united front while raising their children.

The pair are regularly seen attending family events and spending time with their children, and have also reportedly celebrated some holidays together since their split.
