Smriti Mandhana was the leading run-getter from Team India in the World Cup, amassing a record-breaking 434 runs in nine innings. She also notched up a century against New Zealand in a crucial league match.
She finished as the second-highest run-scorer in the Women’s World Cup, after South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt. Last year, Smriti led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to their maiden WPL title.
Smriti Mandhana set to tie knot with Palash Muchhal
India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will marry Palash Muchhal on November 23. The couple announced their wedding after India won the Women’s ODI World Cup, defeating South Africa by 52 runs at the DY Patil Stadium.
Palash proposed to Smriti at the same venue, where he led blindfolded India’s batter to the centre of the pitch, and went on one knee to propose to her.
