JeM chief Masood Azhar’s brother Tahir Anwar dies in Pakistan under mysterious circumstances: Report

New Delhi: Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar’s elder brother Mohammad Tahir Anwar has died under suspicious circumstances, according to reports.

Indian intelligence sources have confirmed the death of Anwar, according to a TV9 Bharatvarsh report. The exact cause of death remains unclear. Anwar was actively involved in the outfit’s activities.

To be buried at JeM’s headquarters in Bahawalpur

He will be buried at the JeM’s headquarters in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

The situation is being closely monitored by security agencies, even as details surrounding his death remain unclear.

Social media posts origination from Pakistan also claimed that Anwar had died, with posts attributed to individuals linked to JeM confirming the development.

One such message read: “Hakim Mohammad Tahir Anwar, elder brother of Maulana Masood Azhar, has passed away by the will of Allah.” It added that his funeral prayers would be held at 10.30 pm near Jamia Usman wa Ali, close to the railway station on Heavy Industries Road in Bahawalpur.
