JEE Main Registration 2026: There is important news for students preparing for admission in engineering colleges. National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the dates for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2026). This examination will be conducted in two sessions. The first session will be held from 21 to 30 January 2026, while the second session will be conducted from 1 to 10 April 2026. Through this examination, admissions are given in BE, B.Tech courses in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other engineering colleges across the country.
When will JEE Main 2026 registrations start?
According to the information released by NTA, online registration for the first session will start from October 2025, while the application process for the second session will start from the last week of January 2026. Candidates have been advised to keep the necessary documents with them while applying and fill all the information carefully.
Important NTA guidelines related to filling JEE Main application form
NTA has stated in the notification that during the application, the name, date of birth, gender, photo and address of the candidates will be obtained directly from UIDAI (Aadhaar). However, the name of father, mother, guardian will have to be filled by the candidate separately, as this information is not recorded in Aadhaar. The agency has also clarified that if name difference is found in Aadhaar card and 10th mark sheet, candidates will be given the option to correct the same during the application process.
What does clearing JEE Main mean?
JEE Main is the biggest engineering entrance exam in the country. Students who clear Paper 1 of this exam can further appear for the JEE Advanced exam, which provides admission to IITs. Therefore, this examination is considered the first big step in engineering career for lakhs of students.

- First of all go to the official website of NTA jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on “New Registration” link given on the homepage.
- Enter your required information like name, date of birth, email and mobile number.
- Create login credentials and fill the form carefully.
- Upload documents, pay fees and submit the form.
