Jaya Ekadashi has special significance among these Ekadashis. There is a religious belief that by worshiping with devotion and regularly on this day, a person gets freedom from sins and there is happiness and peace in life. In the year 2026, many rare combinations, Indra, Ravi, Bhadravas and Shivvas yogas are being formed on Jaya Ekadashi. According to the Panchang, in the year 2026, the fast of Jaya Ekadashi will be observed on Thursday, January 29. This Ekadashi falls in the Shukla Paksha of Magh month and is considered a symbol of victory, success and spiritual progress.

Jaya Ekadashi Puja Vidhi

On the day of Ekadashi, wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. Sit in front of the temple and take a pledge to fast with water in your hand. Spread a yellow cloth on a post and install the idol of Lord Vishnu. Bathe them with Ganga water. Apply yellow sandalwood to God, offer yellow flowers and clothes. Offer fruits and sweets to God. Remember, keep a Tulsi leaf in the offering to Lord Vishnu, without it the worship is considered incomplete. Light a ghee lamp and read or listen to the Jaya Ekadashi fast story. At last perform the aarti of Om Jai Jagdish Hare. Donate a lamp in the evening and break the fast the next day i.e. on Dwadashi by serving food to a Brahmin or a needy.

Importance of Jaya Ekadashi

According to mythology, fasting on Jaya Ekadashi removes a person’s sins. It is also called Pishach Mochini Ekadashi because it provides relief from the fear of evil spirits. On this day it is important to keep the mind calm, not to lie and have virtuous thoughts.
