IT professionals in Japan get annual salary ranging from Rs 17 lakh (fresher) to Rs 30 lakh (experienced). However, this attractive salary comes with high tax rates. For example, on an income of Rs 17 lakh, one has to pay tax of around Rs 3 lakh.
Japan is becoming a favorite destination for IT professionals looking to work abroad. But what is the real picture of salary and living expenses there? This has been revealed in a video of a content creator. He met two software engineers from Bengaluru in an Indian restaurant in Japan, who explained in detail about the financial matters there.
He told that in Japan, freshers in IT field get about 30 lakh yen i.e. about 17 lakh rupees annually. If you have 2-3 years of experience, then this salary increases to 45 to 50 lakh yen i.e. about 25 to 30 lakh rupees. This salary sounds quite good, but he said that a large part of it goes in taxes. In the video, the techies revealed that they have to pay around Rs 3 lakh as tax out of their annual earnings.
After the video went viral, it is being discussed a lot on social media. Many people talked about Japan’s difficult work culture. One user commented, “It sounds good from outside, but only those living there know the real truth.” At the same time, some people were surprised about the tax of Rs 3 lakh on a salary of Rs 15-17 lakh.
