Jana Nayagan Leak: Cyber Crime Arrests Six For ‘Illegal Circulation’ Of Thalapathy Vijay’s Film

Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipatedJana NayaganNayaganleak sent shockwaves across the Indian film industry and left the film’s makers furious.

They swiftly initiated legal action against the culprits. Meanwhile, their legal representative also warned fans against downloading, forwarding, sharing, uploading, reposting, storing or circulating any leaked scenes from the movie, which was made on “several hundred crores and carries enormous theatrical, satellite, OTT and commercial value.” Despite being warned of strict consequences, some have landed in trouble for allegedly circulating the film illegally. The cybercrime branch made six arrests in the case on Sunday.

Advocate Vijayan Subramanian, legal counsel for , shared the update on Sunday evening.

His tweet read, “The Cyber Crime Department has already arrested 6 persons in connection with the illegal circulation of leaked content from #Jana Nayagan. Any person downloading, forwarding, sharing or circulating leaked scenes in any form through social media or digital platforms will be traced and subjected to immediate criminal prosecution. Strict action will follow without exception.”

 

Jana Nayagan Team Takes Legal Action

This came hours after the Cyber Crime Wing of the Tamil Nadu Police   into the alleged leak of scenes from the upcoming Tamil film, starring actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay. The investigation was initiated after the film’s production team filed a formal complaint, expressing serious concerns about digital piracy ahead of its theatrical release.

The complaint was lodged by R Udayakumar, Production Controller of KVN Productions, who requested immediate action against the unauthorised leak and online circulation of unreleased footage from the film.

Reportedly, 21 individuals had been named for their alleged involvement in the piracy network.

The producer urged authorities to immediately remove the leaked footage from all social media platforms and digital channels, while ensuring that key digital evidence is preserved to support the ongoing investigation. He also requested officials to confiscate all electronic devices allegedly involved in the offence, including mobile phones, laptops, storage devices, and cloud storage accounts.

He further asked investigators to trace the entire distribution network to identify every individual and intermediary who participated in the unauthorised sharing of the footage. According to officials, cyber forensic teams have been deployed to locate the origin of the leak.

Meanwhile, the entire industry has rallied in support of the makers. From   to South stars, many have condemned the leak of Jana Nayagan. Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Suriya, and   were among those who demanded immediate action against the culprits.
