Jan Suraj’s account is zero in Bihar elections, but there is only a discussion in the city regarding PK.

Prashant Kishor’s prediction proved wrong in Bihar elections. He had claimed that JDU would not win more than 25 seats, but the party won 85 seats. Now posters are being put up in Patna reminding him to retire from politics.

As soon as the full results of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are revealed, a new controversy has emerged in the politics of the state. This controversy focuses more on the statements made by Jan Suraj Party founder and political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishore (PK) before the elections than on the election results. He had claimed that JDU would not be able to win more than 25 seats, and if that happened, he would ‘retire from politics’. Now that JDU has achieved a historic victory with 85 seats, this statement of Prashant Kishore is being reminded publicly on the streets of Patna through posters.

Posters increase discussion in Patna, stir on social media too

Since Sunday morning, huge posters were seen at many important places in Patna including Dakbungalow intersection, Fraser Road, Patel Nagar, Kankarbagh and Buddha Colony, in which it is written along with the picture of Prashant Kishor, “JDU brought more than 25 seats, Prashant Kishor retired from politics”. The name of ‘Nari Shakti’ is mentioned at the bottom of the posters. It is believed in political circles that these posters have been put up by JDU Mahila Morcha, although this has not been officially confirmed yet.

Why did PK’s prediction fail?

In an interview given before the elections, Prashant Kishor had claimed that “JDU has lost political relevance, and they cannot get more than 25 seats.” But in the results, JDU not only crossed this figure but also emerged as the second most powerful political force in the state by winning 85 seats. It is also worth noting that Jan Suraj Party was reduced to zero seats in its first assembly elections, which greatly weakened PK’s political entry.

PK’s silence increased suspense and questions

After the results, Prashant Kishore neither held a press conference nor gave any official response on social media. This silence is raising many questions.

  • Will PK really retire?
  • Was that statement just a political challenge or a serious promise?
  • Will PK return to the role of strategist?
  • Will he present any new political roadmap after reviewing the defeat?
