NC’s Chaudhary Mohammad Ramzan won by 58 votes.
Senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Chaudhary Mohammad Ramzan was elected to Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir by winning by 58 votes. His competition was against Ali Mohammad Mir of BJP. On the second seat, BJP’s Rakesh Mahajan was facing National Conference’s Sajjad Ahmed Kitchlu. Let us tell you that in this election, Congress and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) also supported the National Conference. Elections were held on all four seats in the state on Friday itself.
BJP’s Satpal Sharma got 32 votes
BJP’s Shat Sharma got 32 votes in the Rajya Sabha elections. Sat Sharma is also currently the President of Jammu and Kashmir BJP. National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah have congratulated the victorious candidates on their victory.
Rajya Sabha elections were held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370.

During the voting held in Srinagar Assembly, 86 out of 88 MLAs voted, while detained MLA Mehraj Malik cast his vote through postal ballot. The time for voting was till 4 pm. Counting started at five o’clock.
