Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a doctor from Saharanpur, who is accused of putting up posters in support of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. The accused doctor was working in a private hospital for several months. Many important clues have been found in the police investigation.
There was a stir in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday when a special team of Jammu and Kashmir Police suddenly reached the city and arrested a doctor posted in a private hospital. The accused doctor faces a serious allegation of putting up posters in support of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. The police team took action in the presence of the local administration and took the accused into custody and sent him to Srinagar.
Name revealed in Srinagar Police investigation
According to sources, a few days ago, Jaish-e-Mohammed’s promotional posters were put up in many areas of Srinagar. In this case, the local police had registered a case against unknown people and started investigation. During the investigation of CCTV footage, a young man was seen involved in suspicious activities, after which the police identified him through technical surveillance as Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather (son of Abdul Majid, resident of Anantnag).

Arrest in raid in Saharanpur
After the location of the accused was traced to Saharanpur, a special team of Srinagar Police with the help of local police and SOG raided the hospital located on Ambala Road. Dr. Adil was taken into custody from there and taken to the police station. After completing all the legal procedures, the accused was handed over to Srinagar Police under transit remand on the orders of the court. The team met Saharanpur SSP Ashish Tiwari and shared the documents related to the arrest. At present, there is no local case registered against the accused in Saharanpur.
Recently the doctor got married
According to the information, Dr. Adil recently married a female doctor from Saharanpur on October 4. Before this he was working in another big hospital on Delhi Road. Local sources say that many doctors and paramedical staff from Jammu and Kashmir are currently working in Saharanpur. After this incident, the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) and the police have increased vigilance. Now background check of professionals coming from Jammu and Kashmir has also been started.
Interrogation of Dr. Adil continues
After reaching Srinagar, the interrogation of the accused doctor continues. Police are trying to find out whether he did the work of putting up the poster alone or on the instructions of some network. The investigating agencies are now also scanning the doctor’s digital devices and social media accounts. According to sources, the police have got some important clues from this arrest, which can expose the big network of conspiracy behind the posters supporting Jaish.
Increased vigilance in the district
Saharanpur Police has now intensified the investigation of outside doctors and staff in all private hospitals and medical hostels of the district. Complete details of employees have been sought from all the institutions so that any suspicious activity can be detected in time.
