Jaisalmer Bus Fire Tragedy: Fire in an AC sleeper bus of Rajasthan took the lives of 20 passengers. Why was the door locked? Where was the emergency gate? What are the safety measures in AC buses and how can you stay safe? Know the whole truth.
Jaisalmer. AC Sleeper Bus Fire Accident shocked the entire Rajasthan. A sudden fire broke out in an AC sleeper bus going from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur at 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon. 20 passengers died and 15 were seriously injured in the accident. But the biggest question is how did the door get locked? And why was there no emergency gate?
About 35 passengers traveling in the bus were trapped in the flames. Only a few people were able to somehow get out, but most of the passengers remained inside. According to the injured and eyewitnesses, the fire was so intense that even the driver failed in his attempt to stop the bus.
Did technical flaws increase the tragedy?
After the accident, it became clear that many fire safety and security standards were ignored in the bus. The bus did not have an emergency gate, and the main door became locked in the flames. The ventilation system was also not working. If the bus was equipped with fire alarm and automatic sensors, the passengers could have got out in time.
