Rajasthan Weather Update: Severe cold, cold wave and dense to very dense fog are continuously increasing the problems in most parts including the capital Jaipur. In many districts like Jaipur, Sikar, Kota, Bundi, the situation was so bad in the morning that visibility was recorded less than 50 meters. At many places, the conditions were almost zero visibility, due to which road traffic and normal life was badly affected. According to IMD Jaipur scientist Radheshyam Sharma, there has been dense fog in the state for the last 2-3 days, due to which the day temperature is falling by 5 to 8 degrees Celsius.

Why is there such dense fog in and around Jaipur?

There was dense fog in the capital Jaipur for the second consecutive day on Wednesday morning. According to the Meteorological Department, due to very low wind speed and high humidity, the fog is not clearing quickly. Due to fog, sunlight is not able to come out, due to which there is a feeling of cold even during the day.

Why is there “bone-chilling cold” in Sikar?

Sikar is at the forefront among the cold areas of Rajasthan. In the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature of Sikar was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius, which is creating very difficult conditions for the common people. Apart from this, minimum temperatures were recorded at 4.7 degrees Celsius in Sirohi, 5.8 in Phalodi, 5.9 in Ajmer and 6.1 degrees Celsius in Alwar.

In which districts fog and cold day warning has been issued?

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of cold day and dense fog in Bundi, Karauli, Kota and Sawai Madhopur districts on Thursday. During this period, the maximum temperature recorded in Jaipur was 18.5 and the minimum temperature was 6.3 degrees Celsius.

According to IMD, when the maximum temperature of an area falls 4.5 to 6.4 degrees Celsius below normal, then that day is declared as a cold day. The same situation is being seen in many districts of Rajasthan.

The Meteorological Department estimates that cold wave may persist in many parts of Rajasthan for the next 3 to 5 days. Orange fog alert has also been issued in view of the possibility of dense fog in the morning. At present the weather will remain dry, but there is little hope of relief from the cold.
