Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 will hit the big screens in a few hours. The action drama directed by Nelson will have a PAN-India release, but North Rajinikanth fans are utterly disappointed since the Hindi version is not getting released in national chains (PVR-INOX, Cinepolis).
The makers opted for the 4-week OTT window, and that’s the reason only single screens and non-national chains will screen the Hindi-dubbed version, meaning less accessibility for the audience. Rajini admirers have taken to social media to complain about the lack of preferred theatres.
They are criticizing the makers for settling for a short window to earn more money from the digital rights, significantly affecting the film’s potential in the Hindi belt. Even with good reports, it won’t be possible for Jailer 2 to make a large chunk of money in Hindi, given the release size and strategy.
