About Jailer 2

Rajinikanth reprises his role as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in , the sequel to Nelson Dilipkumar’s 2023 blockbuster. After killing his corrupt son, Arjun, and bringing down Varman’s idol-smuggling network in the first film, Tiger hopes to enjoy a peaceful life. However, new threats and unresolved issues from his past pull him back into action.

The sequel boasts an ensemble cast, with Mohanlal returning as Mathew and Shiva Rajkumar appearing in extended cameos. Suraj Venjaramoodu plays the antagonist, Dileep. SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Vijay Sethupathi, Mithun Chakraborty and Jackie Shroff also feature in pivotal roles.

Our in-house critic gave it a rating of 3.5/5 stars and opined, “Jailer 2 is made for Rajinikanth fans and audiences who enjoy commercial cinema driven by stardom. The film banks on his aura, and Nelson knows how to build scenes around it. The screenplay, humour, performances and Anirudh’s music work in its favour, even though the story needed more development and the second half could have been shorter.”
