Jackie Shroff wishes Suniel Shetty on 65th birthday, calls him ‘Asli Bhidu Forever’

Actor Jackie Shroff marked longtime friend and fellow actor Suniel Shetty’s 65th birthday with a warm social media tribute, calling him his “Asli Bhidu Forever”.

Jackie shared a stylish photograph featuring the two veteran actors and accompanied it with the message, “Asli Bhidu Forever”, along with birthday wishes for Shetty.

The actors have shared a friendship spanning more than three decades and have also worked together on several films. Their first major collaboration came in J.P. Dutta’s 1997 war drama Border, which featured an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty.

They reunited in Dutta’s 2000 film Refugee, with Jackie playing BSF Commandant Raghuvir Singh and Shetty portraying Pakistan Rangers officer Mohammad Ashraf. The film also marked the acting debuts of Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor.

Their subsequent collaborations included Baaz: A Bird in Danger (2003), followed by Hulchul and Aan: Men at Work in 2004, Kyon Ki in 2005, Apna Sapna Money Money in 2006 and Mukhbiir in 2008.

Popularly known as “Anna”, Suniel Shetty made his Hindi film debut with the 1992 action movie Balwaan. He went on to establish himself as an action star through films such as Mohra and Gopi Kishan in 1994, followed by successful releases including DilwaleBorder and Bhai during the 1990s.

Shetty later diversified his roles across genres. His performance as the antagonist in the 2000 romantic drama Dhadkan earned him several Best Villain awards, while Hera Pheri highlighted his comic abilities alongside Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
