The teaser for Jackie Shroff and Sharad Kelkar’s upcoming film ‘Kaali Kheti’ has been released, plunging audiences into an eerie world where farming transcends a mere activity and becomes a haunting presence in a village.
This initial glimpse avoids typical horror clichés, instead presenting a folklore-driven narrative with an unsettling undertone.
The film builds suspense around a village seemingly trapped by an inescapable force. ‘Kheti’ (farming) is portrayed almost as an ancient entity that has seized control of both the land and its inhabitants. This premise is particularly unsettling as it takes a fundamental aspect of rural Indian life and imbues it with a sinister dimension, hinting at deep-seated fears connected to the land and its history.
According to the makers, ‘Kaali Kheti’ brings agriculture to the forefront of its horror story, tapping into fears rooted in the land, its past, and generations of untold secrets. It suggests a world where the distinction between local beliefs and something far more sinister is blurred. Written and directed by Haris Imtiyaz Khan and produced by Sana Khan under BlackCanvas Studio, the film also stars Neha Sargam, Virendra Saxena, and Shaji Choudhary in key roles. ‘Kaali Kheti’ is slated for a theatrical release on November 20, 2026.
