Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out for 175 in the second over on Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies. Jaiswal looked set for a double hundred, or even bigger records, and this was probably the only way the West Indies would have got him out.
hit the delivery by Jayden Seales towards mid off and sat off for a quick run, but at the other end was hesitant to take the run. Jaiswal turned around and did his best to get to the crease, but he fell short, and it was the end of a terrific innings.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal was not happy with Gill after the run-out. ‘It was my call, ‘ said Jaiswal, who stood in disbelief. His reaction went viral on social media.
Opportunity To Score 300 Blown Away
Jaiswal looked determined to make this hundred count. Usually severe against the spinners, Jaiswal didn’t hit a single six in the innings. He was set for a huge score as the West Indies bowlers had little answers to Jaiswal’s composed innings. Even a 300 could have been on the cards, but that opportunity is gone now. A section of fans believed it was Jaiswal’s fault as he has a habit of hitting and running without looking at the partner, while others feel Shubman Gill should have responded to the call.
India On Top
Meanwhile, India’s score has crossed the 350-run mark, and they are heading towards a big score on the board. The wicket is getting broken up, and spinners will have a big role to play in the remainder of the match. Given how West Indies struggled in the first Test, it would be an achievement for them if they make India bat again in the test, but never say never in cricket.
