Yogi Adityanath sports awards Lucknow: At Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored the players who have brought glory to the state. Six international players were given government jobs, many players were given Laxman and Rani Laxmibai Awards and medal winners were given prize money worth lakhs of rupees.

A special ceremony was organized for the players on Tuesday in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored the players who have brought glory to the state in a program organized at Lok Bhavan.

On this occasion, six international players were given appointment letters in government services. Along with this, five players were honored with Laxman Award and four players were honored with Rani Lakshmibai Award. Prize money was also given to 14 other medal winning players at the ceremony. The Chief Minister also transferred financial assistance to the players from the Eklavya Sports Fund by pressing a button during the program.

These international players got appointment letters

Six international players were given appointment letters to government posts in the programme. These include:

  • Rajkumar Pal (hockey) – DSP
  • Praveen Kumar (Paralympic high jump) – DSP
  • Ajit Singh (Paralympic Javelin Throw) – District Panchayat Raj Officer
  • Simran (Paralympic Athletics) – District Panchayat Raj Officer
  • Pritipal (Paralympic Athletics) – Block Development Officer
  • Rinku Singh (Cricket) – Regional Sports Officer

However, cricketer Rinku Singh could not attend the program due to some reason.

These players received Laxman Award

Five players were honored with the Laxman Award at the ceremony. Under this award, the players were given Rs 3.11 lakh, a bronze statue and a citation.

  • Uttam Singh – Ghazipur – Hockey
  • Abhijeet Kumar – Prayagraj – Gymnastic
  • Jonty Kumar – Noida – Wrestling
  • Yash Kumar – Agra – Para Canoeing
  • Praveen Kumar – Noida – Para Athletics

These players were honored with Rani Laxmibai Award

Four players were honored with the Rani Lakshmibai Award for encouraging women players. Under this also Rs 3.11 lakh, bronze statue and citation were given.

  • Tanya Chaudhary – Baghpat – Athletics
  • Pragati Kesarwani – Lucknow – Para Table Tennis
  • Vantika Agarwal – Noida – Chess

Many medal winning players were also given financial awards for their achievements at the ceremony. The main awards are as follows:

  • Vinay (Gorakhpur) – Para Powerlifting – Rs 40 lakh
  • Vikrant Baliyan (Meerut) – Wushu – Rs 15 lakh
  • Sagar Dangi (Baghpat) – Shooting – Rs 15 lakh
  • Deepak Kumar (Ghaziabad) – Mountaineer – Rs 15 lakh
  • Lieutenant Colonel Bhanu Pathak (Gorakhpur) – Mountaineer – Rs 15 lakh
  • Tanushree Pandey (Lucknow) – Soft Tennis – Rs 14 lakh
  • Om Yadav (Lucknow) – Soft Tennis – Rs 12 lakh
  • Rajkumar Pal (Ghazipur) – Hockey – Rs 10 lakh
  • Yash Kumar (Agra) – Para Canoeing – Rs 10 lakh
  • Muskaan Yadav (Prayagraj) – Soft Tennis – Rs 6 lakh
  • Abhay Singh (Varanasi) – Kayaking and Canoeing – Rs 5 lakh
  • Shravan Kumar (Baghpat) – Shooting – Rs 3 lakh
  • Yash Tomar (Baghpat) – Shooting – Rs 2 lakh
  • Ishaan Khan (Baghpat) – Shooting – Rs 2 lakh

Players appreciated the efforts of the government

Simran Sharma and hockey player Uttam Singh also shared their views during the program. He said that the facilities and incentives being provided to the players in Uttar Pradesh have become much better than before. This is inspiring the youth to move forward in sports.

Sports are getting a new platform

Through this ceremony, the state government tried to give the message that sports and players are now getting a new identity in the state. Steps like government jobs, financial rewards and honors are increasing the morale of the players and the youth are getting an opportunity to come forward in the field of sports.
