New Delhi: Sindoor Mittal’s first match of the tournament proved to be lucky for Mumbai Smashers, as they clinched the inaugural Indian Pickleball League 2025 title with a commanding 5-1 victory over Hyderabad Royals.
Despite losing the women’s singles final to Megan Fudge, Sindoor Mittal’s presence and constant guidance on court proved invaluable for the Mumbai Smashers, adding depth, composure, and strategic insight to the team’s performance.
Speaking to Pickleball Now after the championship ceremony, a visibly proud Sindoor said the night was far more than just a match; it was a moment she will treasure forever. “I was just really happy and privileged to be able to be part of this experience by being on centre court,” she said, reflecting on the enormity of the occasion.
When asked how she felt playing her first match of the tournament, Sindoor noted the special nature of the experience, “Yeah, my first league, my first match. I’m so glad to be part of this final,”
On the subject of handling the pressure going into the Grand Rally, she revealed that Mumbai’s early lead and the team’s collective confidence helped her stay calm throughout the decisive segment. “I don’t think I was nervous,” Sindoor said. “Like I was in the last few matches, but this time we kept the lead the entire time. We never lost it, and we finished with a really good margin. So, it just felt like an emphatic win.”
