Israel-US-Iran War Live Updates, April 14, 2026: US Vice-President JD Vance accused Iran of engaging in “economic terrorism” by blocking traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, warning of a reciprocal US response.
Speaking to Brett Baier on Fox News, Vance said President Donald Trump has made clear that “two could play at that game”.
He added that if Iran continues such actions, the US would ensure “no Iranian ships are getting out either”.
Vance also said weekend talks with Iran saw “a lot of progress”, but stressed that ‘the ball is in Iran’s court”. He said Tehran must show flexibility and accept key US demands, including US control over its enriched uranium and a verification mechanism to ensure it does not develop a nuclear weapon.
