Iran has confirmed it has launched an attack on a US air base in Qatar. Explosions have been reported over the skies above the Qatari capital Doha as the Iran-Israel war looks to have spilled out into other Middle Eastern countries. The Iranian regime has begun retaliatory strikes against US interests in the region, with sources telling Express.co.uk at least six missiles have been launched against Qatar and one against Iraq.
There was no immediate acknowledgment from Qatari authorities of any attack. The reports have emerged as Qatar closed its airspace amid Iranian threats to retaliate against the United States over its bombing early on Sunday of three Iranian nuclear sites.
Iran said that it attacked American forces stationed at Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base. The announcement was made on state television as martial music played. A caption on the screen called it “a mighty and successful response by the armed forces of Iran to America’s aggression.”
