New Delhi: Ishan Kishan continued his red-hot form for Jharkhand in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament on Sunday, December 14. The swashbuckling left-hander played a blistering knock of 63 runs off 30 balls in his side’s Super League clash against Madhya Pradesh at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
Kishan provided Jharkhand with a cracking start at the top and helped them post a strong total of 181/9 in 20 overs despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Kishan opened the innings with Virat Singh, who was dismissed cheaply on 14 off 12 deliveries after the duo added 30 runs for the first wicket.
Kishan continued his onslaught on one end as he combined with Kumar Kushagra (8) to add a crucial 40-run stand for the second wicket. The Jharkhand skipper’s blazing 30-ball 63 was laced with five sixes and 4 fours as he took the Madhya Pradesh bowlers to the cleaners in Pune.
After Kishan’s departure, Jharkhand lost wickets at quick intervals, however, Anukul Roy’s 21-ball 29 and Rajandeep Singh’s 15-ball 18 helped them cross the 180-run mark. It was Kishan’s third fifty-plus score in the tournament as he moved to the 2nd spot on the list of highest run-getters in the SMAT 2025 so far.

Kishan has been in top-notch form for Jharkhand in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 with 381 runs from 8 matches at a brilliant average of 63.50 and a strike rate of 195.38, including two fifties and a solitary half-century. Kishan is currently the second-highest run-getter in the tournament, behind Haryana’s Ankit Kumar, who has smashed 391 runs in 9 matches.
