According to the report of the Indian Express, UK officials took stock of the status of the prisoners in Tihar Jail and the security of the jail premises. The yatra took place by the Government of India amidst the ongoing efforts of fugitive economic criminals such as liquor businessman Vijay Mallya, diamond merchant Nirav Modi and British -based arms advisor Sanjay Bhandari to extradite Britain from Britain. The British courts had recently expressed concern over the status of India’s jails during the hearing of extradition cases.
