If your account is in Punjab National Bank (PNB), then this news is very important for you. The bank has alerted its customers whose KYC (Know Your Customer) update is still left. PNB has clearly stated that customers who did not update their KYC till 30 June 2025 have now been given time till 8 August 2025. If the process of KYC is not completed by the due date, then your account will be freeze, that is, you will neither be able to withdraw money nor deposit.
Why is it necessary to update KYC?
KYC means “Know Your Customer” is an important banking process, through which the bank confirms the identity and address of its account holders. The purpose of this process is to prevent any kind of fraud, money laundering or financial misuse. All banks including PNB get KYC updates from time to time so that the information of the customer remains correct and active. If you have not updated the KYC for a long time, then it is very important to do it now or else the bank will temporarily turn your account.

How to do KYC?
PNB has given several options to update KYC to its customers, so that you can complete it as per the convenience.
- Go to the bank branch and take all your necessary documents and go to the nearest PNB branch and fill the form and get KYC updated.
- Download PNB’s mobile app PNB One through PNB One app, login and complete this process sitting at home by choosing KYC updates.
- Login on the official website of Internet Banking (IBS) PNB, and go to the update KYC section and upload the necessary documents.
- If you do not want to go to the bank or do online by email or post, then you can send the necessary documents to your home branch through registered email or post.
What if KYC did not update on time?
If you did not update your KYC by 8 August 2025, the bank will temporarily free your account. In such a situation, you will not be able to do some important work.
- You will not be able to withdraw money from your account nor deposit.
- Online transactions will also be stopped.
- You will not be able to use the essential bank services.

- Login in PNB online banking or PNB One app
- Go to Personal Settings or KYC Status section
- If the message of “KYC Required” is seen on the screen, then you have to update
