Ganga water remained pure even after bathing 57 crore devotees
During the Mahakumbh, more than 57 crore devotees have taken a dip of faith in the Ganges. Despite this, the purity of Ganga water was not affected. This claim was made by Dr. Ajay Kumar Sonkar, senior scientist and Padma Shri, the Padma Shri, he says that the purity of Ganga water is not less than a miracle and it has been found to be as pure as alkaline water.
Big disclosure made in the laboratory
Dr. Sonkar took samples of Ganga water from Sangam, Arail and other major ghats of Prayagraj and tested it for three months. The test revealed that:
- Bacterial growth in water was zero.
- The pH level was between 8.4 to 8.6, which is better than normal water.
- 1100 types of bacteriophages were found in the Ganges water, which automatically destroy harmful bacteria.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Sonkar is a famous independent scientist of Prayagraj, who has received the Padma Shri honor. They are identified internationally for pearl (pearl) culture and mollusk-based research.
