“Prabhas is very happy to arrive on set whenever his shots are required,” the Ram-Lakshman duo, who have also worked on the action-heavy film The Paradise, among other major Telugu movies, told Great Andhra.
According to the duo, the pan-Indian film era has transformed how superstars approach action sequences. Stardom no longer allows for a complacent approach, as competition is fierce, and top stars actively push their physical limits. The stunt masters noted that the days of simple, low-effort action scenes are completely over. Audiences expect high-octane sequences, and actors are determined to deliver them. In fact, even when action choreographers attempt to tone down dangerous stunts for safety, the heroes themselves refuse to compromise on quality.
“Regardless of their level of stardom, everyone has become competitive in spirit in the pan-Indian cinema era. They are putting in maximum effort. Even if we, as stunt masters, try to bring down the intensity, the heroes themselves are not ready to compromise. The days of simple action are over. Every hero is working to the best of their abilities,” the duo added.
It may be recalled that the issue of Prabhas allegedly relying heavily on dupes became particularly prominent around The Raja Saab. Following the film’s release in January this year, viewers criticized scenes where they believed Prabhas’ face had been digitally composited onto a body double. Subsequently, a parkour athlete shared BTS footage that showed the Baahubali actor himself shooting a fight sequence.
