Dr. Priya Paliwal, Chief Dietitian at Shri Balaji Action Medical Institute, said that oily or fried food is not the direct cause of pimples, but it definitely causes such changes in your body which can become the reason for increasing the problem of acne. When you eat too much oily and high-glycemic food like samosa, pakoda, chow mein, burger or French fries, it increases the level of insulin in the body, which leads to more production of sebum i.e. skin oil. This extra oil clogs the pores and bacteria start growing, which can increase the problem of pimples.

Pimples And Oily Foods

Pimples And Oily Foods

In many cases, especially among teenagers, it is seen that fried foods and sweet snacks make the skin more breakout-prone. Such food often contains trans-fat and poor quality oils, which can increase inflammation in the body and this inflammation appears in the form of pimples on the face. If a person has weak digestion or already has oily skin, then eating fried food can increase the problem of pimples. Experts advise to include fresh, low-oil food, fruits and vegetables in your diet. Along with this, drink water during the day as per your body’s need. This will maintain the oil balance of the skin and reduce breakouts to a great extent.
