The trend of Telugu film stars owning premium multiplexes is growing rapidly, with several leading actors entering the exhibition business.
Owning a modern cinema complex has become another symbol of a star’s success and influence in the industry.
Allu Arjun recently opened his premium theatre venture, Allu Cinemas, in Kokapet. He is also associated with AAA Cinemas in Ameerpet in partnership with Asian Cinemas.
Mahesh Babu partnered with Asian Cinemas to establish the highly popular AMB Cinemas in Gachibowli, West Hyderabad.
Ravi Teja also joined the trend with ART Cinemas, developed in collaboration with Asian Cinemas in Vanasthalipuram, East Hyderabad.
Now, industry sources suggest that Jr NTR is planning to build his own multiplex in or around the Gachibowli area of Hyderabad.
Although there has been no official confirmation, discussions about the project have reportedly created excitement in industry circles and among movie lovers.
According to reports, Gachibowli has been chosen because it is one of Hyderabad’s fastest-growing commercial and entertainment hubs.
A premium multiplex in the area is expected to attract strong footfall while also strengthening NTR’s brand value in the cinema exhibition business.
Interestingly, Ravi Teja’s ART Cinemas is located in Vanasthalipuram, which is relatively far from Hyderabad’s bustling western corridor. This has made Gachibowli an even more attractive destination for future multiplex investments by leading stars.
If NTR’s multiplex project becomes a reality, it could encourage more Tollywood celebrities to invest in the exhibition sector.
Ram Charan is also rumoured to be considering a similar venture. It remains to be seen which other stars will join the growing list of celebrity theatre owners.
