Roop Durgapal Talks About Nana Patekar

Working with such a big star will definitely be a dream for every actor. Roop Durgapal got a chance to share screen space with Nana Patekar. When asked about her experience working with Nana and veteran director Prakash Jha, the actress said, “Working with Prakash Sir and Nana Sir both has been a very enriching experience. Both are legends, and there was a lot to learn just by watching them work also at times. Prakash Sir, in his few words, shares a lot of insight about how he wants the character to be played. He allows you to be yourself while remaining absolutely present in that moment. I really admire his subtle yet intense way of direction.”

Many actors have earlier said that Nana Patekar is very strict on set and it is very difficult to work with the talented actor. When asked if he ever intimidated her on the sets of Sankalp, Roop Durgapal said, “Nana sir treated all of us like his kids; on sets or off, he was kind and caring. Also very humourous. He writes his dialogues to memorise them and has beautiful handwriting. This is something I also do at times, and I was just delighted to have an acting habit in common with someone I have grown up watching on screen.”

Roop Durgapal On Her Role In Sankalp

Roop Durgapal also opened up about her role in Sankalp. She said, “I play Madhuri Verma, an IPS officer’s wife, played by Zeeshan Ayyub. She is well educated, strong, supporting her husband and also trying to be like a glue between her husband and Maatsaab, played by Nana Patekar.”

Nowadays, web series creators often speak about the censorship on OTT content. When asked if it is necessary to censor the content on the web, Roop said, “I think audiences have matured, and censorship will be as per the audience’s sensitivity and sensibilities. Having said that, it feels fortunate to be doing projects which don’t come under the scanner of censorship. Would wish that continues.”
