Beijing’s attempt was to stable Nepal’s politics so that it could reduce India’s influence. China does not want Nepal to be part of any American strategy or military alliance. Instead of being completely dependent on the help of China or America, local resources and regional cooperation have to be used.

It would not be appropriate to consider Nepal’s current politics as only Oli or the result of the country’s domestic factional, its real picture is much bigger than this. Nepal is grinding in some form or the other in the growing geographical competition of America and China. Even after the arrival of democracy, if Nepal has not been stabilized, then it is not only the reason for internal weakness, but also a continuous tussle of external forces.
