The scientific explanation lies in childhood habits-when parents offered food as comfort during moments of anger or sadness. This behaviour links eating with emotional pacification, which continues to trigger hunger during bouts of anger even in adulthood.
The study indicated that the hunger sparked by anger leads people to crave carbohydrate-rich foods more than nutritious options. Other foods fail to satisfy this specific hunger. This consumption of excess carbohydrates ultimately becomes the primary cause of fat accumulation and weight gain. Therefore, if you aim to control your weight, managing your anger is just as crucial as regulating your diet.
