Will America send ground troops?
Trump made it clear that he does not want any kind of ceasefire. He says that there is no ceasefire when you are completely weakening the enemy. He described NATO allies as “cowards” and said the security of the Strait of Hormuz was now the responsibility of other countries. The US will help only as needed, but may not need it once the Iran threat is completely eliminated. Trump also said there were no plans to send ground troops, but 2,200–2,500 US Marines had been deployed to the region. He confirmed the US attack on Kharg Island, which completely destroyed all military bases there.
