Iran-Israel War has bad effect on cricket, now this 6 match series will not happen

The impact of the ongoing war between Israel, America and Iran in Western Asia is visible everywhere. It has had a negative impact on everything from international flights to business. Due to this, many players and teams could not reach their matches. Now cricket has also become a victim of this war. Due to the ongoing military conflict in the Gulf countries, the 6-match white-ball series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka had to be postponed. This series was to be organized in UAE but due to the tense situation, the cricket boards of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka have postponed it indefinitely.

According to the report of Cricbuzz, Afghanistan Cricket Board said that the ODI and T20 series have been postponed for the time being. The board cited the conditions in Western Asia as the reason for this and also said that many other problems, from flights to logistics, are also the reason for this. This series was to be played between March 13 and March 25, which included 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. Afghanistan Cricket Board had also announced the squad for this, in which Ibrahim Zadran was also appointed as the new T20 captain.

It has been told in the report that both the boards together considered the option of organizing this series in Sri Lanka, but even for this, flights from UAE to Sri Lanka are not available in the current circumstances, due to which this option also could not be pursued.
