Saudi Arabia and the UAE are home to major US military bases and could be next if Iran launches more missile attacks. All US allies in the Gulf region are now on high alert. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a group of countries in the region is said that the missile strike was a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.

Iran says Qatar not the target

But Qatar strongly condemned the strike. In an official statement, it said: “We strongly condemn the missile attack by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard targeting the Al Udeid Air Base. This is a serious violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, its airspace, international law, and the UN Charter. We want to make it clear that Qatar has the right to respond directly, as per international law, in proportion to the scale and nature of this shameless attack.”
