New Delhi: The tension between Iran and Israel has reached a dangerous point. Because of this, the families of more than 1,200 Indian students studying in Iran are having sleepless nights. Due to closure of airspace, these students are stuck there and are unable to return to the country. Although many students had returned before the situation worsened, some students remained in Iran because of their examinations.

The parents of 18-year-old medical student Sobia Khan, resident of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, expressed their concern to the media. Sobia is currently stuck in a hostel room in Tehran. Her family said, “We spoke to Sobiya only a few days ago, but have not been able to contact her since then. When I called, she was crying. She was saying that she was hearing the sounds of explosions. We have not slept for many days.”

Most of the students trapped in this crisis are from states like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Kerala. The families of all these students are now waiting for the intervention of the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs, so that their children can return home safely.
