Five former IPL teams – Deccan Chargers, Kochi Tuskers, Pune Warriors, Gujarat Lions and Pune Supergiants – no longer play. These teams folded after playing a few seasons, including 2009 champion Deccan Chargers.

The first name in this list is Deccan Chargers. Players like Adam Gilchrist, Rohit Sharma and Andrew Symonds were in this team. This team played for five seasons from 2008 to 2012 and also became champion in 2009. But in 2012, BCCI ended this franchise due to some reasons.
Then comes the turn of Kochi Tuskers Kerala. This team included big names like Brendon McCullum, Mahela Jayawardene, Muttiah Muralitharan and Steve Smith. This team played only in the 2011 season and won 6 out of 14 matches.
Who can forget Sourav Ganguly’s team Pune Warriors India. This team was a part of the tournament in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons. But Pune team could never come above eighth position in the points table.
Lastly, let’s talk about those two teams, which came when Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned. These were Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions. Both the teams were part of IPL in 2016 and 2017 and then their story also ended.
