Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was hit by a few injuries during IPL 2025. Mayank Yadav only played three matches in the season while Mohsin Khan missed the complete season.
Avesh Khan was dealing with a knee injury coming into IPL 2025. All three pacers are down with injuries at present. All three pacers have undergone surgeries after IPL 2025 and are set to stay out of action. Starting with Mayank, he underwent a back surgery in New Zealand.
Mayank has missed plenty of action since his IPL debut due to his back issues. The Times of India has reported that he is out of action for six to eight months.
Mayank hogged the limelight with his express pace in IPL 2024. He was fast-tracked into the T20I team and made his debut against Bangladesh. He played all three matches in the series before getting injured. He made his return for LSG in IPL 2025 but only played 3 matches.
Mohsin and Avesh have undergone knee surgeries. They will miss a part of the domestic season and might only be available for Madhya Pradesh towards the end of 2025.
Lucknow Super Giants’ performance in IPL 2025
Lucknow Super Giants once again failed to make it to the second round and finished in the seventh position in the points table. The Rishabh Pant-led side managed only 6 wins from 14 matches.
LSG suffered 8 defeats and only bagged 12 points. They had a below-par NRR of -0.376. Captain Rishabh struggled with the bat and only scored 269 runs in 13 innings. He slammed an unbeaten 118 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). However, it came in a losing cause.
It remains to be seen if LSG decide to retain Rishabh Pant before the IPL 2026 auction or not. They spent a huge sum of Rs 27 crore on him at the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
