IPL auction suddenly clears 9 players, 6 Indians including Virat-Swastika included

Mini auction will be held in Abu Dhabi

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big decision just before the IPL auction to be held on 16 December. BCCI had released the list of 350 players for auction on December 9 but after that the names of some players were included in it. But these players have once again been thrown out of the auction race. A special name in this is that of Swastik Chikara, who was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore last year, while the names of Jharkhand’s star batsman Virat Singh and Tripura’s all-rounder Mani Shankar Moorsingh have also been removed.

A report by CricketNext has revealed that auction Even after the list of 350 players was released, BCCI included 9 names in it. In this, there was a lot of discussion about Mani Shankar Moorsingh, who was showing his talent in domestic cricket, who did not get a place in the initial list. But just 3 days before the auction, the names of these 9 players have once again disappeared from the list of auctioned players on the IPL website.

The cards of these players were cut

Among the players left out of the auction list, 6 are Indian domestic cricketers, while 3 are foreign players, who have played international cricket for their respective countries. The 6 Indian players who were dropped are- Virat Singh, Swastik Chikara, Mani Shankar Moorsingh, Chama Milind, KL Srijit, Rahul Raj Namala. These three foreign players are out – Virandeep Singh (Malaysia), Chris Green (Australia) and Ethan Bosch (South Africa). Now no reason has been revealed as to why all of them have been thrown out.

How many players will be bid for?

As far as IPL auction is concerned, it will be held on December 16 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. It will start at 2:30 pm (Indian time) on Tuesday and the fate of a total of 350 players will be at stake. However, bidding will not take place on all players. A total of 77 players’ slots are to be filled. However, like always, this time too there is little hope of filling all the slots.

The reason for this is the BCCI rule, according to which a squad of maximum 25 players can be prepared, whereas each team should have at least 18 players. In such a situation, many franchises spend their entire budget on 20 or 21 players, due to which the entire slots are never filled.
