Karn Sharma will be among the 359 players who will be up for grabs during the IPL 2026 mini-auction. The senior leg-spinner was part of Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025. The five-time IPL Champions released him on the IPL 2026 retention day.

Karn Sharma is a four-time IPL winner. He started his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2009 and played one game for them. Karn joined Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2013 and stayed with them till 2016.
He moved to Mumbai Indians (MI) for IPL 2017. He spent the next four years at Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He returned to RCB for IPL 2023 and 2024. Karn played for MI in 2025.
Karn is the only player to win three back-to-back IPL titles. SRH won the IPL title in 2016 while MI and CSK won the next two seasons, respectively. He played a key role in MI’s third IPL title win and scalped 13 wickets in 9 matches. The senior leg-spinner scalped four wickets for just 16 runs in four overs he bowled in the second qualifier against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Karn didn’t take a wicket in the final against Rising Pune Supergiant but only spent 18 runs in his four overs. MI registered a one-run win in the final.
Karn played one Test, 2 ODIs and one T20I for India in 2014. He came close to an India comeback in 2017 but couldn’t make a return. He is likely to get a bid in the IPL 2026 mini-auction. Karn has 83 wickets in 90 IPL matches. He has an economy rate of 8.38.
