According to the report of Cricbuzz, the deal of Sanju Samson in exchange of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran is almost finalized. According to a franchise official, the consent of all three players has been received and the interest expression process has started. Everyone has agreed, but it will take some time to complete the formalities. CSK and RR have sent expressions of interest with the names of the three players to the IPL Governing Council. According to the rules, talks can proceed on the final agreement only after the written consent of the players, which will then be approved by the council.

A franchise official told Cricbuzz, ‘Consent has been received from all three players and the interest expression process has been started. All three players have signed the documents, but this process will take some time to complete. Usually, trade formalization takes 48 hours, but the official announcement may take another day or two. This deal is going to prove to be one of the most high-profile swap deals in IPL history, as it involves two Indian stars and an English all-rounder.

Now Sanju will play for CSK

RR’s long-time captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Samson (contract worth Rs 18 crore) is being seen as a possible successor to MS Dhoni in CSK. According to reports, he himself had expressed his desire to be released after IPL 2025. For CSK, he will strengthen the middle order and can handle the responsibility of wicketkeeping. On the other hand, the departure of 36 year old Ravindra Jadeja (18 crore contract) from CSK will be emotional. He has been in the core of CSK since 2012, and also captained him in 2022. At the same time, he will return to RR as the hero of the 2008 champion team.
