IPL 2026: Tim David penalised for disobeying umpires in MI clash, Hardik Pandya also fined

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Tim David and Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya have been fined for different breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct following their IPL 2026 clash on Sunday, April 12. Defending champions RCB defeated MI by 18 runs.

David was fined 25 per cent of his match fee and handed one demerit point for a Level 1 offence of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials. The Australian all-rounder has breached Article 2.4, which is related to “disobeying an umpire’s instruction during a match”.

MI skipper Hardik Pandya has been penalised for maintaining a slow over-rate. He was fined Rs 12 lakhs as this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
