As soon as the IPL 2026 season starts, different records have started being made. Many records were made in the very first match of the season between Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Now in the second match also a special record was set and it was made by Kolkata Knight Riders’ veteran all-rounder Sunil Narine.
The second match of IPL 2026 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on Sunday 29 March, in which Sunil Narine made it to the playing-11 as expected.
With this he became the foreign player who played the most matches in IPL. This was his 190th match in IPL and thus he snatched this record from Kieron Pollard.
Before his record 190th match, Narine has taken 192 wickets in 189 matches in IPL, while 1780 runs have also come from his bat. The special thing is that Naren has played all these matches for KKR only.
After Narine in the list of foreign players who have played the most number of matches, there is his West Indies teammate Kieron Pollard, who played 189 matches. At the third position is South African legend AB de Villiers. He had played 184 matches.
