The new season of IPL has started and in the very first match, champion Royal Challengers Bangalore started their campaign with an easy win. Along with this, a war has started on social media between the fans of all the 10 franchises, where they taunt each other every chance they get. But before any kind of conflict could start between the fans, Indian cricket team’s veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh clashed with some users on social media and started making lewd comments on them. Reason- Criticism from many commentators including Harbhajan.
Actually, the first match of IPL was played on Sunday 28 March at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In this, Bengaluru and Hyderabad were face to face. This match going on on the ground was being broadcast on different channels of Star Sports, in which commentary in Hindi and English was also being heard. The responsibility of Hindi commentary was on stalwarts like Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Akash Chopra, Ravichandran Ashwin, Navjot Singh Siddhu.
But perhaps some fans did not like this commentary and they expressed their displeasure on social media. Some users posted photos of Harbhajan, Aakash Chopra and Virender Sehwag and raised questions on his commentary, while someone called him a joker. But while the other legends did not react to this, Harbhajan got furious the next day of the match. He made lewd comments while replying to some tweets.
In response to a tweet, Harbhajan wrote, “Elephants go to market. Thousands of dogs bark. Get out of here Tomy. Not Homie.”

After this post, users got angry at Harbhajan and there was a demand to remove him from the commentary team of Star Sports. Well, this is not the first time when questions have been raised regarding Hindi commentary. Fans have often criticized the level of Hindi commentary and one complaint has always been that most of the former cricketers who do commentary just narrate their stories or ramble on instead of explaining the intricacies of the game. Apart from this, many players have also been criticized for their poor knowledge.
