New Delhi: Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma stitched a 82-run opening stand as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scored a massive 226/8 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash on Thursday. The side, that is known for a power-packed batting line-up, put up the highest powerplay score (84/1) in this edition of the league.
SRH looked to cross the 250-run mark with ease at a moment when the dangerous duo of Head and Abhishek were on the crease, but after the former’s departure for 46 off 21 balls, things eased a bit at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Skipper Ishan Kishan joined Abhishek on the crease with an aim to continue from where Head had left but departed for 14 runs after a fiery start.
