IPL 2025 Points Table: Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in the 41st encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season on April 24 (Thursday) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The win marked Mumbai Indians’ fourth consecutive triumph this season under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, following a shaky start. Meanwhile, last season’s runners-up and Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their sixth defeat in eight games of the tournament.
MI completed a double over SRH as they also defeated them in both teams’ last encounter of the season. After opting to bat, SRH crumbled to 35/5 due to reckless shot selection, before Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar staged a partial recovery with a crucial stand, taking them to a modest 143. On a good batting surface, the total was never enough as MI chased it down comfortably with over four overs to spare. Rohit Sharma followed up his return to form with a sublime 70, steering the chase alongside contributions from Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav.
The victory also pushed Mumbai Indians up to third place on the IPL 2025 points table, while further complicating Sunrisers Hyderabad’s path in the latter stages of the tournament.
